Can't enable PunkBuster on a Mac

i went to redownload et and accidently enabled punkbuster before joining a server. now it won't enable. how do i fix?

apparently its a new bug where it doesnt actually enable then, and you can't actually enable it ever. stupid mac problems

why would this problem of not being able to enable pb persist after deleting all my et files and redownloading them?

cuz its a mac ^^ try to download tzac ET. run it and launch ET using it. It will force close PB. Then close it and restart ET normally. And use the enable punkbuster option after trying to connect to a server. See if that works

How do you know it's disabled? Because you can't click on the ENABLE PUNKBUSTER button when you run the game for the first time or because of some error message when you try to join a server? Try this: run the game, open the console and type /cl_punkbuster 1 and /vid_restart, then exit and run the game again.

i know its disabled because when i go to connect to a server running pb it disconnects after a second and brings me to the window asking to enable pb. clicking enable there does nothing, as when i go to connect to a server i just get the same message. typing /cl_punkbuster made it say 'pb is read only'

Try adding this line to your autoexec.cfg file: set cl_punkbuster 1 (no trailing slash). Put a copy of the same file both in etmain and jaymod.

faxing, try taking out all PB documents in Library>Application Support>Wolfenstein ET>pb and restarting. Dont throw them out, just put them elsewhere for the moment.

j1, isn't there some kind of task manager on Macshits where he can see if the PB services are running? Firewalls or antiviruses real-time protection might be blocking the services.
