You'll probably have to edit quite a few registry entries too. Better leave those pieces of shit where they are.Vuvuzela*Asesina wrote:Hello forum
Can anyone point me to an article which explains how to change the installation directory for programs that do not offer that option?
I'm trying to install all my program files on my D partition, but some asshole programs like skype won't let me change the default installation directory: c:\program files etc
i think u have to run it from the run box in the start menu?
thanks

Re: Changing install directory path for programs
Vuvuzela, like I've said many times before, whatever you do, do not think. Many of these programs will store values in keys all over the registry, so you'd have to do a search for the installation path and replace all path strings. Problem is, many of these programs are also coded to access the installation paths in the fucking Windows directories regardless of the changes you might have made to the registry, so the next time you run them they might look for stuff in those directories and then won't work, or worse, they might fuck up work you've done before with them. So, again, leave the motherfucking pieces of shit that don't allow you to choose their installation paths where they are, even The Sacred Emperor does that.
