Franklin County Sheriff’s Office: The following statement is from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office –the LEAD investigative agency on this incident. The Virginia State Police is assisting..
The Franklin County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred this morning at Bridgewater Plaza near Smith Mountain Lake. At this time, Franklin County sheriff’s officials can confirm that three people were shot. Two of the individuals are deceased and a third victim is hospitalized. The shooting occurred around 6:45 a.m. during a WDBJ 7 (CBS affiliate) live shot.

The man accused of these crimes has supposedly made twitter comments and uploaded a video to Facebook. The following images have not been fully reviewed and verified yet but are part of the developing story.

Whatever you hear or read today, try not to learn anything about the gunman. If the start talking about him, turn it off. Don't make him the Star of this story. RIP Reporter Alison Parker (24) and Cameraman Adam Ward (27).

Summary of what WDBJ just said live: When Bryce worked there, he quickly became difficult to work with. He was looking out for people to say things to be offended by. After many incidents of anger, they fired him and he did not take it well. The police had to escort him out. Then he filed an EEOC complaint about members of the staff making racial comments. But NONE of the complaints could be corroborated and they think they were fabricated. The investigators asked other employees and nobody heard anything racial and EEOC dismissed the complaint.

This morning, a fax was in the machine (time stamped 8:26 a.m.) almost two hours after the shooting. A little after 10 a.m., he called again, and introduced himself as Bryce, but also said his legal name was Vester Lee Flanagan, and that he shot two people this morning. While on the phone, he said authorities are “after me,” and “all over the place.” He hung up. ABC News contacted the authorities immediately and provided them with the fax. "

More about our troubled relations in the USA, I would say race relations but I believe skin colour is a geographically influenced trait and not an indicator of a different race of being.

Dylann Roof, who killed 9 people in a church has reportedly been raped in prison.

Roof was discovered by a correctional officer, who indicated that he had been raped by 2 African-American inmates.

A little bit of closure, not for the senseless race and gun debate this will spawn, but at least maybe for the families.

Just before 11:30 a.m., Virginia State Police saw the car they believed Williams was driving headed east on Interstate 66. With emergency lights activated, a trooper tried to pull him over, police said.

The driver refused to stop and sped away before running off the road and crashing into an embankment around mile marker 17.1 in Fauquier County, more than 170 miles away from the site of the shooting.

Troopers found the driver inside with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Virginia State Police Sgt. F.L. Tyler told reporters. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead Wednesday afternoon, Tyler said.

There is also a wonderful censorship debate that will never end (much like gun debate and race debate) and they have gone after this story like a fat kid on pancakes.

“Our #WDBJ crew was literally ambushed this morning,” Brent Watts, the chief meteorologist at the station, wrote in a tweet. “Please DO NOT share, or post the video.”

The shooter posted videos o the incident to his twitter and they were deleted.
