Hi!
I was trying to help Grape with a problem, I hope Pedro or someone has an answer PlZ!
He connected to another server, he downloaded the .pk3 files from that server as usual... after that he couldn't connect to NoobsForever. Later he relaunched the game and the initialization console showed the following message:
"
--- Common Initialization Complete ---
Working directory: /Applications/Wolfenstein ET
WARNING: watchdog will trigger in 4 seconds
Idle Server with no map - triggering watchdog
Sys_ShutdownNetworking();
logout
[Process completed]
"
Then the application quitted unexpectedly!
Help! the only thing that comes to my mind is to reinstall ET on his computer!

Re: WARNING: Watchdog will trigger in 4 seconds
This looks like ET is starting up as a SERVER. It's going to be too much work to figure out what he messed up, so just do this:E.M.F. wrote:the initialization console showed the following message:

1 - Copy the etkey file from the etmain directory to somewhere safe. If he hasn't messed up with the autoexec.cfg I've sent him, copy that file too, from the jaymod directory.
2 - Delete the whole game directory structure.
3 - Reinstall the game from scratch and copy the 2.60b patch files over (all files available on my site http://www.portaldosgames.com).
4 - Download the NF complete pack from http://www.noobsforever.net and extract the files in it to the specific folders (basically it's the Jaymod client in jaymod and everything else in etmain).
5 - Copy back the etkey file to the etmain directory and the autoexec.cfg file to the jaymod directory.
6 - Launch the game from the desktop shortcut and type on the console: /exec autoexec (ENTER) and /vid_restart (ENTER).
Everything should be OK on ET's side then. This will NOT fix problems with drivers or the Mac OS, but it's guaranteed to fix anything wrong with ET.
I'd also advise him and everyone else to make a copy of the ET desktop shortcut and edit this copy so that it loads jaymod, loads autoexec.cfg and connects directly to the [>NF<] server - I explained how to do this here:

Last but NOT least, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT download configs from the net or from friends or mess with the game's commands and Cvars unless you know exactly what each command and each Cvar does.
Now about Mac related problems, any computer user (be it Mac or PC or whatever) just MUST HAVE the latest drivers for his system stored on a CD or DVD, or at least the installation CD's or DVD's that came with the computer or its components. Grape needs to check exactly what his Mac model is and what OS version he is using so he can download the drivers from Apple's site (yes, they are there) and reinstall or update if needed.

Re: WARNING: Watchdog will trigger in 4 seconds
Thank you!
We will try that!
For any mac user reading this post I found out that the "etkey" file is located in:
/Users/My_User/Library/Application_Support/Wolfenstein ET/etmain.
That is the default location.
