Recommended graphics cards (December 2011)

All cards are NVIDIA, of course. There are five price levels, and if you can't afford even the entry level recommendation, well... sell a kidney. Prices are in US dollars and are averages from various online US retailers. Prices in other countries will certainly differ (in Brazil expect 2 to 3 times higher prices due to the cascading tax madness).
1 - GeForce GTS 450 (any GDDR5 version - not the GDDR3 versions) @ ~$110
2 - GeForce GTX 460 (any 1GB version - not the 768MB versions) @ ~$160
3 - GeForce GTX 560 Ti @ ~$235
4 - GeForce GTX 570 @ ~$335
5 - GeForce GTX 580 @ ~$480.
Even the entry-level recommendation will allow you to play ET at maximum graphics settings at any resolution at 76 FPS steady on any map (125 FPS steady on most maps).
